BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Europe’s top court on Tuesday sided with Italy’s antitrust authority which fined Alphabet unit Google four years ago for refusing to allow an e-mobility app developed by Enel access to its Android Auto platform.
“A refusal by an undertaking in a dominant position to ensure that its platform is interoperable with an app of another undertaking, which thereby becomes more attractive, can be abusive,” the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) said.
The case is C-233/23 Alphabet and Others.
